Fish Haus
BBDOMPLS
In the winter of 2023, we launched the BBDO MPLS FISH HAUS, a creative retreat and outpost designed to bring a fresh perspective to team gatherings and workshops with potential partners. Situated right on the ice, this seasonal hub invites brands and collaborators to step outside the ordinary for brainstorming and blue-sky ideation—while perhaps even catching a fish or two.
The project began with a series of illustrations of the local fish found in Lake Minnetonka, which I then used to bring the exterior of the fish house to life. Each illustration celebrates the unique wildlife of the area, setting a creative and welcoming tone that blends our environment with brand building.

No fish house experience would be complete without a proper drink, so we crafted a unique beverage called The Auger—bottled exclusively for the FISH HAUS. It’s the perfect companion for brainstorming sessions out on the ice, adding a little extra warmth to the creative atmosphere.
Interior Design
Inside, we took on the challenge of designing the interiors from scratch, learning to sew custom curtains and seat cushions. Using vintage blankets from Faribault Woolen Mills, we created a cozy and authentic atmosphere that reflects both the local culture and the spirit of this creative retreat. This setup not only brought warmth but also a touch of Minnesota heritage to the heart of each gathering.
